How to Pack for a Weekend Getaway: Warm Weather

My husband and I decided to book a last minute weekend getaway to San Diego to celebrate Valentine's Day and get some sunshine. The winters in Portland can be long and grey. Anytime we get a peak of sunshine, everyone is outside taking advantage of it. So when my husband told me he was going to be in San Diego for work next week and I had two consecutive days off, we decided to make a weekend of it and get some sunshine in our life.

I immediately started thinking about all the summer outfits I was excited to bring out of my closet. Since were only going for a weekend, I had to drastically narrow down my options. The one item I knew I for sure wanted to bring was a new dress I had bought with warm weather in mind. The dress can go from day to night easily. For the second look, I focused on a more casual option since I would be wearing this on the plane as well. My go-to casual outfit is almost always a pair of relaxed boyfriend denim. To elevate the denim I paired it with a casual white blouse and lace bralette.

For shoes, I packed two different options, a pair of sandals and sneakers. My favorite travel sneakers are my All Birds, they are so comfortable! My husband and I tend to prefer walking especially when we are on a trip so I need shoes that will last all day. I also threw in a sweet bathing suit because you never know when you're going to need one. Lastly, you always need a good layering option. Since both my outfits are on the more feminine side, I wanted a jacket that balanced out the girly vibes so naturally I pakced my leather jacket.
